Mrs. Maria ‘Dora’ Gonzales, age 83 was called upon Our Lord on July 13, 2004 in a Beeville Hospital after a short illness. 

Dora was born February 3, 1921 in Beeville to the late Juan Rodriguez and Maria Gonzales; she was a housekeeper, member to The Woodmen of The World and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. 

Survivors include one daughter, Maria “Longie” (Jan T.) Berdan and one son, Oliver (Anita) Esparza both of Beeville, Texas; three special grandchildren that Dora raised; Melissa Briseno, Jan Tracy Berdan Jr. and Jacob Andrew Berdan, other survivors include three other grandchildren; Hope Barraza, Terrie Trevino and Olivia Esparza and 15 great grandchildren. 

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2004, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating.  Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery # 2.  Pallbearers will be Joe Richard Rodriguez, Eloy, Rene and Johnny Rodriguez, Leopoldo Moreno, Larry Wren and Robert Aguilar.  Honorary pallbearers will be Catarino Catlin Briseno III and Christopher Corey Briseno and her special friends at Parkview Adult Health care Center, Josie Sanchez, Yolanda Lewis Ellen Corrigan, Rose Mary Zapata, Norma Garza, Jackie Longoria and Celia Ruiz
