General Comments/Ideas

  • We are doing something many students will never do. You can always play around. But you cannot always have this type of educational experience.
  • When in teams be certain that one person does not do everything. Share the responsibilities.
  • Work together as a team, Keep your eyes open as a team, team members may combine observations.
  • Most activities are team activities. Collect information by team.
  • As you observe try to put yourself in the place of someone who was in La Bahia.  
  • All answers involving measurements need to be in standard and metric measurements
  • Read the captions for collecting details.
  • One of your tasks after we collect data will be to build a simple replica of the La Bahia  
  • Grade: You will receive a grade for trip as well as the follow-up assignments at school.
  • You cannot collect every piece of information. You MUST be selective.
  • We are to there to have an educational time...NOT A FUN TIME...

  • One student will keep a record of what we do on our trip for historical purposes.

  • Map route using grid
  • Put a box around the mile entries
  • RECORD mileage points: Beeville, Bee County Line, Berclair, San Antonio River, red light in Goliad, and La Bahia
  • CALCULATE gas consumption at 20 mpg (miles per gallon) and 30 mph
  • CALCULATE average consumption
