Josefa Rosa Alaniz, age 88, passed away at her residence on November 14, 2005 in Beeville, Texas. Josefa was born in Starr Co. Texas on August 29, 1917 to the late Gabino Rosa and Maria Saenz Rosa

She is survived by her loving husband Nicolas Alaniz Sr., five daughters Arcelia (Alejandro) Suarez, Arcadia Garcia, Rosie (Carl) Pickett all of Beeville, TX, Angelita Loza of Watsonville, CA, Maria (Martin) Ramirez of Baytown, TX, one son; Nick Alaniz of Bishop, TX, two sisters Juanita Garza of Stanton, TX, and America Alaniz of Starr Co. TX.; four brothers Genaro Rosa of Stanton, TX, Gilberto Rosa of Odem, TX, and Gume and Candido Rosa both of Starr Co. TX,; 34 grand children; 87 great grand children; and 45 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Alaniz is preceded in death by her parents also one brother and one sister.

Rosary will be at 7:00p.m. on Wednesday at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Donohoe officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Alaniz, Joshua Tovar, Rodrigo Suarez, Ricky Garcia, Vidal Alaniz Jr., and Richard Silva Honorary Pallbearer will be Deacon Manuel Carranco
