Classification: Tramea onustra
Characteristics: In addition to being territorial,  dragonflies will perch on a twig as simply a spot to rest before jumping off and catching small insects.  After catching the insect, they return to the perch to wait for another.  Some dragonflies feed this way and others hunt actively without perching  for long periods.
