Mrs. Teresa Vela, 87 was called upon by our Most Precious Lord, on Saturday, January 11, 2003. 

Teresa was born on October 15, 1915 in Fredericksburg, Tx.  She was a faithful catholic and a member of the Guadalupanas at St. James Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death her husband Juan Z. Vela and her loving parents Servando Flores and Ruperta Medina Torres.  She is survived by Three sons: Luis (Elena) Vela of San Antonio, Tx., Juan (Delia G.) Vela of Victoria, Tx. And Richard Vela of Beeville, Tx., Two sisters Eloisa Garcia of Beeville, And Amelia Cuellar of Corpus Christi, Tx.; Eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. 

Rosary was recited on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection was held on Monday, January 13, 2003 at 10:30a.m at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Varghese officiating.  Burial was followed at Beeville Memorial Park  Pallbearers were Richard Vela Jr., John Martin Vela, Michael Vela, Joseph Baldillez, Rey Torres and Michael Garza and Tracy Berdan.

Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. 
We grow old by deserting our ideals. 
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
