San Diego, Texas - Beeville, Texas

On July 24, 2003 God called Mrs. Regina G. Soliz into the Gates of his kingdom. Regina was taken into his arms at the age of 90.

She was born in San Diego, Texas on April 9, 1913 to the late Ramon Garcia and Martina Pena.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was a devoted Catholic.

She is survived by seven children. Mrs. Rosa (Edward) Suniga of Beeville, Texas Janie (Ron) Ortiz of Victoria, Texas Servando (Ysidra) Soliz, Ernest Soliz both of Beeville, Texas, Noe G. (Eva) Soliz of Big Springs, Texas, Ramon (Esperanza) Soliz of Three Rivers and Jose (Delia) Soliz of Corpus Christi, Texas, 58 grandchildren, 150 great grandchildren and 80 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Santos Soliz, 2 daughters Eloisa Barrientz and Audelia Ponce, 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Rosary was held on Sunday July 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection was held on Monday, July 28, 2003 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial was followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery # 2. Pallbearers were Nino Martinez, Ernie Soliz, Lucas Aguilar, Ramon Soliz Jr., Carlos Soliz, Ramon Barrientez, Jessie Martinez, Noe Soliz Jr., David Ponce and Aucencio Ponce.

Birds of Paradise were released as a symbolic beauty representing the spirit of the departed loved one being released to begin the final journey home. Five white doves were released to ascend and circle the area. Moments later, a single white dove was released; representing the spirit of the departing loved one. Once released, it joins the others which represent the Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost and is lovingly guided on the final journey home.

Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and
knowing that something is real even if we don not see it.
