Friends and Family of Peggy Morehead
Eulogy by Johnny Alexander

Peggy (Emma Josephine Clark) Morehead was a gift from God to Archie Bell Clark and Ollie Mae Boone my grandparents. Of the 17 children born 13 survived infancy and of those 13 Aunt Peggy was number 10, she first saw the light of day February 5, 1937 in Smith Center Kansas,  the family moved here to Odem in 1945.

Some of the fondest memories as a child revolved around three of my aunts (Patsy, Peggy &  Alice) and two uncles (Archie & Doc), I thought I was their little brother until I was about 5 or 6  years old, and by then it didn’t matter because the bond of love couldn’t separate us.

Both her parents 4 sisters 2 brothers her infant son Terry Glenn Morehead and her friend Stanley Schmitton precede Aunt Peggy in death. Her sons Billy Wayne Morehead of Caldwell TX, and Dennis Allen Morehead of Hearne TX, also her grandchildren, Vince Gail Morehead, Vicki Lynn Morehead, Allen Wayne Morehead, Kaneda Ann Morehead one great-grandchild, her  former Husband Billy Ray Morehead survive her in life. She is also survived by brothers Dale  Clark of Sacramento CA, Archie Clark of Helotes TX, Phillip Clark of Beeville TX and sisters  Mildred Pleuler of Woodbridge N.J. and Lea Ingram of Corpus Christi TX and several nieces and nephews.

If I could put my finger on what made her so special would have to be her heart and her passion  for her boys and grandchildren, this lady had a heart as big as Texas. Aunt Peggy loved her  family and strangers alike, and as far back as I can remember she was always committed to helping someone who needed a helping hand, a pat on the back, a shoulder to cry on,, a quarter for a pack of Camels, or a nickel for a coke, and nothing meant any more to her than her family.

This little package of dynamite could get mad at someone in or out of the family and in the same  breath be willing to fight to her very death for that person, and the word hate was not in her the  words she used on a regular basis.

Aunt Peggy was very passionate about her beliefs in God, Family and Politics, She was always  ready for a good debate, and if you had the tenacity to have a go at it she would give you your  money’s worth. I never knew her to back down from a challenge no matter what is was about, she would even argue with you for only the sport of it. That was Aunt Peggy.

As she closed her eyes in death April 28 2003 and being here with us for 66 years 2 months and  23 days Emma Josephine Clark (Morehead). Went to be with her LORD.

January 5, 1991

I pray dear Lord, every day,
And get down on my knees
I say a prayer of thanks to You,
  For all You’ve given me.
My heart is filled with thankfulness,
  For every thing I own,
But now its time to thank You Lord
For the things You never done!

You did’nt give me blindness
So I could’nt see the light,
You did’nt give me deafness
So I could’nt hear whats right
You did’nt give me anything,
  That I did1nt need
For all those things, You did’nt give
  I thank You for indeed!

You did’nt give me enemies,
I made them on my own
You did’nt give me problems
  The fault is mine alone
You did’nt give me selfishniss
Or fill my heart with greed
What I don’t have, I owe to You
 So, thank You, Lord indeed

ICE ANGELS
Peggy Morehead
January 27, 2003

On a cold, frosty night
Ice crystals had formed on the window pane
Outside my hospital room.
As I watched the thousands of ice angels
Dancing across my window pane,
The lights from afar
Touching the tiny feet and wing tips
Causing such a flutter.
I discovered
After a few nights of watching my ice angels,
They weren’t dancing at all!
They were delivering special messages
Between my ‘Special Angela sister and me.
