Joe Vasquez Salazar
March 19, 1933 - February 25, 2003
Beeville, Texas

Mr.  Joe Vasquez Salazar went peacefully into the arms of Our Lord on Tuesday February 25, 2003 at the age of 69.

Joe was  retired from  the  Civil Service after 26 years of faithful service at NAS Chase field.  Mr. Salazar  was honorably discharged  from the Armed Forces of the United States Army on March 31, 1961 and received certificates by the VFW in recognition of his involvement in their Political Action Committee, Joe enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends and always talked about the good old times. 

Joe was preceded in death by his father Jovenal Salazar, and his mother Segunda Vasquez. 

He survived by his wife,  Margarita Maldonado Salazar of Beeville, Texas; one daughter Marisol  Galvan of Beeville and one step-daughter, Genny (Encarnacion)  Mendez of Rockport, Texas; three sons; Ricardo (Yolanda) Salazar of Baytown, Texas; Jose Javier (Adelita) Salazar of Beeville and Ronald “Ronnie” Salazar who is enlisted in the United States Marines; two step-sons Frank Armijo and David (Angie) Ulloa both of Beeville; two sisters Adela Gonzales of Beeville and Sister Mary Dorothy  Salazar of Brownsville, Texas; one brother Celestino  Salazar of Beeville, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and 1 great great step-granddaughter.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2003 at 7:30 pm at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel.  Mass of Resurrection will be held at 2:15 on Friday, February 28, 2003 at St. James Catholic Church with Deacon Manuel Carranco officiating.  Interment follows at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2 with full Military Honors conducted for Mr. Salazar who proudly served and defended our Country, the United States of America.
